Artblazers: Story Quilts & Creating Hope:
History is full of revolutionary artists. Discover the inspiring artists who have changed the world of art, and the world as we know it. First, we'll be inspired by the art of Faith Ringgold. Let’s fly into the dreams of this African American artist! She created story quilts about her dreams and the civil-rights movement. Children create their own story quilt style design from their own life. Next, we'll discover how art can honor & celebrate humanity through murals, parks, & mosaics to inspire hope & positive change. Envision a model community park, & imagine ways to transform your own neighborhoods through beautiful murals & mosaics. We’ll experiment with art techniques, and use Crayola® art supplies to express ideas.
Sports and Games Madness:
Give them a day they’ll never forget! Gaga Ball, 9-Square In The Air, Foam Tipped Archery, Kickball, Dodgeball, and so much more. Participants will be separated into age appropriate groups, and activities will change every 30-60 minutes. This program is structured to keep your child engaged, learning, and having fun throughout. Offered in partnership with the Rec Academy.
